Fire Force Review! ANIME AIR DATE ADDED JULY FIFTH!!!

You’ve probably heard about the upcoming 2019 anime titled “Fire Force”. This series has a lot of hype and anticipation around it because the one who created it is none other than Atsushi Ohkubo, the creator of soul eater! I’m not gonna lie, I did watch soul eater before but I quit because it wasn’t really my thing. However, “Fire Force” was a very nice series to read… so nice I spent most of my time on it…(゜-゜)

I really like his smirk lmao

For those who haven’t read the manga but want to watch the anime, or those who don’t know if they should pick up this series I thought I would do a little spoiler-free review!

Summary

The world is facing an epidemic where people randomly burst into flames. In the midst of all this human combustion, certain individuals have built a resistance against this fire and instead got fire powers or the ability to control fire. Shinra is a boy who can run as fast as a rocket using his fire power and leaves behind “the devil’s footprint”. He decides to join the fire force, which is a special firefighter unit meant to specifically fight against human combustion and figure out why it happened in the first place so they could stop it before it’s too late!

A Background of Human combustion ( yes it used to be a concern)

In case you don’t know what human combustion is, let me explain from memory lol

Human combustion is when a person suddenly bursts in flames. Some people were believed to have only burnt their feet and hands and nothing else was burned. In the 1800s or so people believed this was the wrath of God or other supernatural phenomena. The reality is there isn’t much scientific evidence supporting the existence of human combustion, so that is probably why they say god caused it.

Important things to note is that the victims were usually found next to things like a lit fireplace or lighters…basically things that ignore or set things on fire. The victims were also old people or obese ( idky maybe fat is more flammable lol). Also, contrary to popular beliefs…the victims didn’t just burn their limbs their whole bodies had burn marks. Nowadays, we don’t really hear people scared of combusting because it’s not really believed to be a real thing, there is simply no evidence supporting it and enough evidence refuting it.

Review

The world of this series gives of a steam punk vibe which I happen to be a sucker of. It’s mechanical, and the fire powers are pretty damn awesome because it’s not always just hey lemme burn this or I can make explosions and run fast, the powers vary a lot even though they all stem from fire and the author makes great scientific explanations as to how these powers might be possible.

The fire force team that Shinra is in have great teamwork and they make the manga hilarious. The idea of using human combustion in this manner is honestly so creative. Although, human combustion itself is an interesting thing on its own either way but the way this manga is presented and the story line of essentially fighting fire with fire is pretty damn good.

My only complaint is that I like some of the villains and I really don’t want them to die or something lol, but that’s not even like a series issue lmao. I just can’t find anything wrong with it, the art is great, the storyline is great, and the characters have a lot of character. What’s not to like? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When you think you won’t like a character but he becomes one of your faves (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Look at this art! Amazing truly.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
